Most Graduates Received Honors
During the ceremony, most graduates received special certificates recognizing their academic achievements throughout the school year. These awards highlighted students who maintained strong grades, demonstrated responsibility, and showed consistent effort in their classes.
One of the students recognized was Alina Sherpa, who received an Honors Certificate for earning all A’s and B’s for the entire year. Her certificate, signed by Head of School Pastor Clark Hausman, reflected her hard work, positive attitude, and commitment to excellence.

Family Reactions
Alina’s graduation was a proud moment for her family. When asked about her daughter’s achievement, Alina’s mother said she is very happy that Alina graduated and is now preparing to attend UConn for college. She shared that seeing her daughter reach this milestone brings her joy and hope for Alina’s future.
Alina’s father, Nima Sherpa, also expressed his happiness and shared strong words about education. He said that any parent who invests in their child’s education will never regret it. Even though there are public schools in Torrington, he believed that sending Alina to a private school was the best choice for her. He explained that private school offered better communication, stronger discipline, and a safer environment, which helped Alina focus on her studies and prepare for college.
He added that many families, including his own, may struggle financially, but the sacrifice is worth it. In his words, “If you send your kids to private school, there is no waste. It helps their college choices, their education, and their discipline.”
Why Some Parents Choose Private School
Nima Sherpa also shared an honest point that many parents understand only after experiencing it themselves. He said that people often believe a “bright” child will succeed anywhere, and a child who struggles will struggle in any school. But he explained that this idea is not true.
He said:
“Only parents who send their kids to private school truly understand the difference. Otherwise people ask, ‘Why pay money when there is free education?’ But the results show the difference.”
He explained that private schools offer a learning environment that can help all children not just the naturally gifted ones. Smaller classes, stronger discipline, better communication, and a safer atmosphere help students stay focused and build confidence.
He added: “Most of my friends say if a kid is bright, they can learn anywhere. But that is not true. The environment matters. The support matters. That is why parents spend money on private school. There is a real difference between public school and private school.”

After receiving their diplomas and awards, graduates gathered outside the school building for photos, hugs, and celebration. Many held flowers, cards, and gifts from loved ones who came to support them on this important day.
School leaders congratulated the Class of 2026 and encouraged them to continue growing in faith and character as they move on to college, careers, and new opportunities. TCA expressed pride in each student and excitement for the bright futures ahead.
