American Airlines Plane and Army Helicopter Collide in Washington DC
WASHINGTON DC– An American Airlines plane and a U.S. Army helicopter collided over the Potomac River near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport last night around 9 p.m. There are multiple deaths. Rescue teams are still looking for survivors, but none have been found so far. The plane had 60 passengers and four crew members, while the helicopter had three soldiers on board.
The FAA and other agencies are investigating the cause of the crash.
The airport is closed until further notice, and rescue operations are ongoing. Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has asked for prayers for the victims and their families. The FBI is also helping with the rescue operation.
