Nepali Embassy hosts successful consular and passport camp in San Francisco

San Francisco, CA-The Nepali Embassy in Washington, DC, in collaboration with the Nepali Association of Northern California (NANCE) and the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) California Chapter, has organized a five-day consular and passport camp in San Francisco.

The camp, which provides essential services like passport renewals and marriage licenses, saw overwhelming demand. On the first day alone, 700 applications were received, and all slots were fully booked within two hours. In response to the high demand, the embassy has extended the camp to accommodate more people.

This initiative aims to bring vital services directly to the Nepali community in the area, saving them the time and expense of traveling to the embassy.

According to Rishi Dhakal, Honorary Consul General of California, the camp is vital due to the substantial Nepali population in the Bay Area. He observed that, in the past, San Francisco residents had to travel to Los Angeles for comparable services, underscoring the camp’s beneficial effects.

Pritesh Karki, president of NANCE, requested that the camp be extended, emphasizing that not all individuals requiring services can access them within the allotted five-day period.

The camp has been praised for its efficiency and the convenience it offers to Nepali nationals living in Northern California.
