Nepal embassy launches labor permit service in Oman
The Nepal Embassy in Muscat, Oman, headed by Ambassador Dornath Aryal, has started issuing labor permits to Nepali workers. This service began on January 31, 2025, in Salalah. It targets workers legally employed in Oman who had not previously obtained a labor permit from Nepal.
This initiative will benefit Nepali workers by helping them access social security benefits and ensuring that remittances are sent through legal channels. To get a labor permit, workers need to create a profile in the Foreign Employment Information Management System (FEIMS), upload necessary documents, submit an online application, and visit the Embassy for biometric verification.
With about 20,000 Nepali nationals in Oman, most of whom work in sectors such as construction, tourism, and healthcare, this move helps them comply with regulations and access various services directly from the Embassy.
The Embassy’s decision to issue labor permits highlights its dedication to supporting Nepali workers abroad.
