US airman sets himself on fire outside Israel embassy to protest war in Gaza
WASHINGTON DC– An active member of the United States military has set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in Washington, DC, according to officials, in an apparent act of protest against Israel’s devastating war on Gaza.

Aaron Bushnell, 25, was rushed to the hospital on Sunday with “critical life-threatening injuries”, according to the US capital’s fire department.
Before setting himself on fire, he said he would “no longer be complicit in genocide” and he was heard shouting “Free Palestine” as he burned.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Air Force confirmed with military news site Task and Purpose that the man was an active-duty airman with the U.S. Air Force.
Officials said that a video online, which shows an individual setting himself on fire as he shouts “Free Palestine,” appeared to be posted by the man who was taken to the hospital, The Washington Post reported.
