Man Shot During Armed Robbery in Torrington Home

TORRINGTON– A man was shot during an armed robbery inside a home on McKinley Street in Torrington early Saturday morning, police said. The incident prompted a strong response from patrol officers and investigators who worked quickly to secure the area and assist the victim.

Police received the call at 7:23 a.m. reporting a robbery involving a firearm. When officers arrived, they found a 38‑year‑old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. The injury was described as serious but not life‑threatening, and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials said he is expected to recover.

Investigators spent the morning collecting evidence inside and around the home. Officers canvassed the neighborhood, spoke with residents, and documented the scene to determine how the suspects entered, what occurred inside, and how they fled. Police have not confirmed whether anything was stolen during the robbery.
