NEW YORK- U.S. President Donald Trump has launched a new immigration program called the “Gold Card.”

The card offers an expedited pathway to live in America. To apply, individuals must pay $1 million. Companies that want to bring workers through this program must pay $2 million. There is also a $15,000 application fee that cannot be refunded.

The Gold Card promises fast approval for permanent residency and later U.S. citizenship. A more expensive version, called the Platinum Card, costs $5 million and includes extra tax benefits.

Supporters say the plan could bring more money and business to the United States. Critics argue it is unfair because only rich people can use it, while many ordinary immigrants face stricter rules and deportations.

Applications are now open online through a new website that promotes the program with Trump’s image and patriotic symbols.
