Powerball jackpot rises to $1.7 billion for Christmas Eve drawing

CONNECTICUT– The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $1.7 billion for the Christmas Eve drawing on Wednesday, after no ticket matched all the winning numbers in Monday night’s $1.6 billion draw. According to lottery officials, the winning numbers on Monday were 3, 18, 36, 41, 54, with a Powerball of 7.

This upcoming jackpot is now one of the largest in Powerball and U.S. lottery history, creating excitement across the country as players hope for a life‑changing win. The cash option for Wednesday’s drawing is estimated at $781.3 million before taxes.

The jackpot has been growing since September, when it was last won by tickets in Missouri and Texas. Powerball officials say the current run has reached a record number of drawings without a jackpot winner.

Players can choose between the lump‑sum cash payout or an annuity that increases by 5% each year over 29 annual payments. The odds of winning the jackpot remain 1 in 292.2 million.

The Christmas Eve drawing will take place at 10:59 p.m. ET.
