Nepal Court issues arrest warrant for former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhan

KATHMANDU:The Kaski District Court in Nepal has issued an arrest warrant against former Home Minister and chairman of the Rastriya swantantra parry Rabi Lamichhane in  connection with allegations of cooperative mismanagement. The warrant, issued on Sunday by a bench led by Judge Krishna Jung Shah, relates to Lamichhane’s involvement in the mismanagement of funds while overseeing Gorkha Media Network, owned by GB Rai.

Former Deputy Inspector General Chhabi Lal Joshi, who runs the network, has also been arrested today after police issued an urgent warrant.

Officials have said that Lamichhane could also be arrested soon under a similar warrant. Further developments are expected.
