Protesters vandalized a building along the roadside, smashing windows and setting it ablaze. Riot police responded with tear gas and warning shots to disperse the crowd. Several individuals, including a female police officer, sustained injuries during the clashes and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The unrest also disrupted emergency services, with firefighters facing stone-pelting while attempting to control the blaze. Media outlets in the vicinity were not spared either, as some offices reported property damage caused by the demonstrators.

The protest was organized by a coalition of pro-monarchy groups, including the Nawaraj Subedi-led joint movement committee and the Rajendra Lingden-led Rastriya Prajatantra Party. Controversial businessman Durga Prasai also played a key role in mobilizing supporters. Leaders of the movement have called for peaceful demonstrations, urging participants to avoid damaging private property.

The events in Tinkune underscore the deepening divisions within Nepal’s political landscape, as monarchist and republican factions continue to clash over the country’s future. Authorities have deployed additional security personnel to restore order and prevent further escalation.
