Israel launches retaliatory attack against Iran

I’m Israel is carrying out strikes against military targets in Iran, the Israel Defense Forces said, calling the strikes a response to “continuous attacks” from Iran. Explosions were heard in the Iranian capital, Tehran’s state media reported.

The scale and duration of the attack was not immediately apparent, but an Israeli official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss classified planning, said Israel would not hit Iran’s oil production or nuclear research sites.

Earlier this month, Iran fired nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel, in retaliation for the assassinations of Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah and Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh.
