A newborn baby was found at a NYC subway station, and police are searching for a woman
New York City- A newborn baby girl was found alone at a busy subway station in Manhattan on Monday morning. The baby was wrapped in a blanket and still had her umbilical cord attached. She was discovered around 9:00 a.m. at the 34th Street–Penn Station stop during rush hour.
Police say the baby was left at the bottom of a staircase leading to the train platform. An anonymous tip helped officers find her. Emergency workers took the baby to a hospital, where doctors said she is in stable condition.
The New York Police Department released a short video showing a woman walking nearby, carrying something wrapped in a bundle. They believe she may know more about what happened and are asking the public to help identify her.
